2nd Workshop on Software Services: Cloud Computing and Applications based on Software Services

Timisoara, June 6-9, 2011

 

Aim

 

The goal of the series of Workshops on Software Services (WoSS) is to present and discuss the recent significant developments in the field of software services.

WoSS intends to be an open forum for academics, practitioners, and vendors, allowing them to discuss the current trends and scientific and technological challenges, such as service quality assurance, adaptability, reliability, interoperability, and automating service-oriented application construction and management.

The first three editions (September 2010, June 2011 and September 2011) are organized with the support of the FP7-ICT SPRERS project, with the aim to highlight the achievements of the on-going European collaborative projects subscribing to FP7-ICT programme and the activities of the teams from new member states in software services.

The second edition is dedicated to Cloud computing and Applications based on Software Services.

Paper submission, publication and fees 

 

Authors should submit extended abstracts of 3 to 6 pages using LNCS style through the submission portal.


Five types of contributions are expected relative to the above mentioned topics:

  1. Invited paper (list closed at April 15th, see above talks): Contributions from FP7-ICT projects 
  2. Regular paper: Presenting accomplished research results 
  3. Position paper: Short report and discussion of ideas, facts, situations, methods, procedures or results of scientific research 
  4. Student paper:  PhD student reporting a PhD project and work so far
  5. Corporate paper: Enabling companies to present recent developments and applications, showcase company’s noteworthy products and service.

 

The extended abstracts will be refereed and accepted on the basis of their scientific merit and relevance to the workshop.

 

Depending on their merits, selected contributions will be qualified to be presented in full version in:

  1. book chapters in a book by Cambridge Scholars Publishing
  2. September issue of Scalable Computing: Practice and Experience

 

Conference fee: 250 Euros

Support for participants from new member states of the European community

 

The participants to the workshop from new member states, authors of accepted papers of the workshop, are entitled to apply for the reimbursement of the travel, accommodation and conference fees.
Applications should be send to the contact point of the workshop and should contain a curriculum vitae and a list of publications.

The New Member States of EC are: Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia.

Support is also provided for representatives of FP7-ICT projects under Objective 1.2.
